A Sreening in Harlem
a Hurricane Katrina in New York, NY on September 12 hosting review
It was successful in making people aware of some of the very personal stories and lives of those who continue to suffer two years after the storm. Everyone was grateful to be informed and a little shocked that they hadn't heard it before- but thats exactly the point- The screening was about the sharing of a little media that matters,-that which we don't get from mainstream media outlets.

Questions for the host:

Q: Why did you host this screening? What were your goals?
A: As the filmmakers, we thought it was an important and great opportunity to share the film with an audience of our peers and friends who may not have heard about the screenings from Amnesty. Our intentions in making the film was to help make people aware of some of the stories that were not being covered in national media about those who continue to suffer great hardships due to the poor management, arrogance, and greed of those charged to assist in the recovery/rebuilding of one the nations most prolific cities. We were saddened by the stories we found while shooting and are even more disheartened by the fact that little has changed 2 years after this horrific disaster.

Q: Any ideas on how you can use "Hurricane Katrina" in the future?
A: From our screening others who work in the justice field will be sharing it with people who can truly be of help to the displaced residents.

Q: Would you do it again for another film?
A: YES

The venue, Billie's Black Bar & Lounge, gets 5 stars
